On September 25, African officials from 19 countries, who were taking part in the Economic Management Seminar of Developing Countries, came to Shanghai Maple’s production base of Geely for reviewing development situation of China’ s Non-State Auto Industry and seeking common opportunities of Sino-Africa Auto Industry.

African officials from 19 countries have visited Geely’s existing model exhibition hall and modern line. In Geely’s exhibition hall, various models were jarring to the eyes, and the officials of each country were busy in taking the photos with these models full of industrial wisdom. Cyrus Ousseini Bello from Niger was very happy and she said, these cars were not only beautiful, but they were so economic by the introduction and suitable for the needs of Niger. So many models possessed by Geely have proved that China’s economic reform and opening-up was extraordinary.

In consequence of the history, these African officials recognized London Classical Taxi-Cab at a glance, and quickly this cab became their focus. An African official asked the questions from time to time and seriously made notes of the answers from field narrator. Terence Nahimana, Cultural Consultant of Vice-President of Burundi said, we knew China’s economy has gained drastic development within 30 years, but our impression always told us that China’s economy was mainly supported by the processing industry, however, when we saw this classical taxi-cab produced jointly by Geely and MBH today, we have leant that Geely was still the leading shareholder, this situation has changed my opinions to China’s economic development pattern, in fact, the auto industry has become a strong power to drive China’s economy.

In the course of visiting the production line, the officials sit & drove the cars those just rolled off the line; however, it was obvious that they haven’t given full expression of their views yet after visiting. Eckersley AberdHarry from Morocco said, we knew China’s economy was a miracle as for the world, after I saw Geely today, we further understood that the miracle of China’s economy was created by numerous miracles like Geely. Geely provided a mode available for the auto industry of the developing countries to draw on, and this was the most valuable experience I learnt toady, and I would take it back to my country.
