Hangzhou, June 9, 2024 – Geely Auto announced that its most popular sedan, the Emgrand, has achieved an extraordinary global sales milestone of 3.86 million units. Celebrating its prominent existence of 15 years, the Emgrand exemplifies well Geely’s aim to design and produce high value cars that market desires. At present, the Emgrand model has driving on the roads of 20 countries and regions all over the world.
Since its first model rolled off the assembly line in 2007, the Emgrand has been building up an inclusive lineup making up of PHEV, battery EV, and Methanol power solutions thanks to the company’s ever-evolving R&D capability. Such electrified versatility not only appeals to global consumers with different backgrounds and driving habits, but also answers to the planet’s environmental challenges.
Every generation of the Emgrand Series is built with Geely’s ambition to accelerate innovation in the whole automobile industry. While the previous generations have fully fulfilled their missions to deliver accessible, sustainable, and smart mobility solutions, the fourth generation was designed as a high-value global model that meets the needs of the current trends.
The 4th Generation Emgrand is built on the BMA platform which is self-developed by Geely, showing its competence as a standard-bearer of sedan on the international stage. According to the sales data, it is the TOP 1 Chinese A-class sedan in Saudi Arabia, and one of the top-selling sedans in countries including the Philippines, UAE, and Kazakhstan.
During the past year of 2023, Geely Auto International sold more than 22,729 Emgrand models globally (excluding the Chinese market), representing an increase of 182% from 2022. In 2024 April, Emgrand’s deliveries achieved 3,592 units, compared with 1,124 units for 2023 April.
