HANGZHOU, China, May 22, 2026 – Zhejiang Geely Holding Group (Geely Holding), China's leading privately-owned automotive technology group, today released its 2025 Sustainability Report. Coinciding with the International Day for Biological Diversity, the Group hosted a high-level sustainability forum at its headquarters in Hangzhou, bringing together global stakeholders to discuss the future of sustainable coexistence between industrial development and nature.
Transitioning from ESG Practitioner to ESG Pioneer
As global ESG regulations evolve, sustainability has shifted from an environmental compliance issue to a core driver of long-term corporate competitiveness.
"Facing the dual challenges of intensifying global climate change and ecosystem degradation head-on, we remain focused on moving our strategic goal of 'Full-Chain Carbon Neutrality by 2045' forward as we emerge as a 'Nature-Positive Enterprise'," said Eric Li, Chairman of Geely Holding Group. "We are transitioning from a practitioner of green and low-carbon development to a co-builder of new, clean industry rules."
This year, the Group collaborated with the International Automotive Task Force (IATF) to establish the Corporate Carbon Management System (ACMS), actively participating in the formulation of national and industry-level dual-carbon standards.
Key 2025 Sustainability Milestones
Geely Holding's 2025 Sustainability Report highlights significant progress across its green manufacturing and value chain operations:
Looking ahead to 2030, Geely Holding aims to achieve 100% green electricity coverage across its manufacturing bases and reduce per-vehicle manufacturing carbon emission intensity by over 80% compared to 2022 levels. Crucially, the Group aims to cap total operational emissions at or below 2022 levels without relying on carbon offsets, even as vehicle sales continue to grow.
Fostering Global Collaboration
During the forum, Geely Holding announced the establishment of a Sustainability Advisory Committee bringing together senior experts from government, international organizations, and research institutions to provide forward-looking guidance on Geely Holding's ESG strategy.
In addition, the Group partnered with the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) to launch the Electric Vehicle Sustainability Alliance (EVSA). The alliance published the first Research Report on Core ESG Issues for the Global Expansion of China's EV Industry. As global competition increasingly centers on rules and systemic capabilities, these initiatives provide a quantifiable, actionable framework for the sustainable global expansion of the electric vehicle industry.
"We believe that self-cultivation is the foundation, while open cooperation is the path," Chairman Li emphasized. "Standing at a new historical starting point, we are more determined than ever to contribute Geely's strength to the high-quality and sustainable development of the global automotive industry."
